ViviAnne arrived on Thursday night and we spent the next day around the resort and town of Kona. We had lunch at the pool and did a little swimming before we headed into town for some shopping and food. We ended up eating at Bubba Gumps Shrimp Company, which was pretty fun. There are a ton of little shops and farmers markets to buy stuff at, so we got most of our gift for people that first day ViviAnne was there.
On Saturday we headed south to the City of Refuge. This is a native village that the royal family occupied a couple of hundred years ago. It w
as a place of refuge for warriors and law breakers. If you could make it to the city and jump over the big volcanic rock wall that surrounded it you would be safe and the priests there would purify you and you could then go back to your village. If you didn't make it over the wall they killed you.
Monday we lounged around to hotel until checkout and then went back to Kona to shop a little more and have dinner at sunset on the ocean. We flew out late Monday night and got home Tuesday around 3:00PM. It was a great weekend with ViviAnne.
